delivery
Over the past several weeks I have ordered delivery for my lunch and dinner just about every day. I never thought I'd be sick of this, but the time has come. The main problem is that it usually takes well over an hour from the time I decide I'm hungry until I get my food. Inevitably, I spend a half hour or so perusing menupages.com trying to decide what I'm in the mood for. Then it takes a half hour or more to be delivered, and by that time I could eat just about anything.
Tonight, for example, I settled relatively quickly on galanga, a thai place two blocks away. I thought about going to pick it up, but it's a little unwieldy w/ the crutches, and I figured, how long could it possibly take for them to deliver the food two blocks. Over an hour! Incredible. And to top it off, they forgot my iced tea, so they had to come back again. That time it only took about two minutes, though.
This isn't to say that my summer rolls and crispy duck salad are not delicious, but I'm not sure it was worth waiting an hour for. I cannot wait to cook again!
