ugh, celebrities

ok, i admit it. i'm procrastinating slightly. i got a lot of reading done, so i decided to unwind by reading a little us weekly and watching some wire season 1 (soooooo dangerous, damn you hbo on demand!).

then i had to go and read this quote from cameron diaz, which is in reference to her number being in paris hilton's hacked sidekick. "She really had, like, every single person's number in the entire, like, northern continent of the United States...America was just completely devastated by her. I had to get rid of my number that I somehow was able to keep for six years."

couple things hon. the united states is a country, not a continent. a few celebrities may have been inconvenienced, but devastated is a pretty strong word. the united states is devastated by terrorist acts, poverty, rising inflation, unemployment and lots of other things. no doubt paris is an embarassment to our country, but i think you might be overstating things just a wee bit. if the biggest problem you had in the last year was changing your six-year old cell phone number, i'd say you're doing just fine, and probably need to shut the fuck up.
