yes, by now you've probably heard it's the best television show ever, and i'm just one more voice adding to the chorus of praise. today i read a short interview with david simon, and i have decided that he is my newest hero. (i'll have to add him to my myspace profile!)

this is an incredibly detailed and well-written post about the opening credit sequences of the wire. each season has the same theme song sung by a different artist, with new still images from the show. david simon himself comments on the post, although be forewarned, it contains numerous spoilers, and if you haven't watched the show yet, i would deter you from reading it.
