blogger skill game

i somehow cashed fourth in the plo tournament tonight. i was stunned at how painfully slow the game plays -- despite railing bayne quite a bit i don't play it much myself, and i usually play more for tilt therapy. virtually everything i know about the game comes from chatting w/ bayne and reading his blog.

i hovered near the bottom of the pack for most of the tournament, trying to stay patient and wait for cards. it was a looooong wait. i saw some cheap flops and hit nothing, and then a couple times hit two pair on non-scary boards. hand i went out on i was in sb and raised bb (ginormous chip leader) w/ 6544. perhaps this was first mistake. i hit a set of 4s on two flush board, and bet out 3/4 of pot. got called. flush hit on turn, and despite the fact that flop call screamed flush draw, i pushed for remainder of my stack and got called by flush. my thinking was that there is chance she is calling w/ two pair and that i have outs even if she hit. i could have check folded bottom set and waited for better spot, but oh well.

i went out first in the wall street poker tournament in about the tenth hand. i raised utg w/ AKo and w/ one caller jamie re-raised. i decided to gamble and 3 bet him all in. he had QQ and i did not win race. had a blast seeing skidoo (two nights in a row!) but was ok going home early given bad cough and lots of work. plus the weather in nyc was GORGEOUS and i had a nice walk home.
