sunday meh
good weekend, terrible sunday. got completely owned by a friend in one ff league, santonio holmes needs to get his shit together imo. i also did not expect great things from the seattle d, but did not expect them to suck quite so badly. i thought about taking brady in first round of draft last week, thanks to bayne and lucko for independently telling me how bad of an idea they thought that was.
i played a lot of five card draw hyper turbo sats on friday and went something like 5/6, despite having played the game once when i was 15 or thereabouts. sadly the last one ended too late for me to unregister, so i played, and came pretty close to cashing. oh well. so far wcoop has not gone well for me. i went out of the six max one very very early, and couldn't get anything going in the sunday one either. i also played two of the hyper turbos and in one went out w/ 88 to AQ and in the other my AJ lost to A9 all in pre.
the theme of sunday was losing flips. as in, i don't think i won one flip all day and i'm not exaggerating. it was frustrating, but i've had many tournaments where they fall my way, or when i lose i'm still in decent shape, so hard to be too upset. still, it would be nice to run good on a sunday sometime.
i am in the lead in my three other ff leagues, but will need adrian peterson to have a good game to win one, where i am ahead by 7 and my opponent has minnesota d and selvin young left to play. sadly, in another league where we hold a 20 something point lead i am up against ap and ryan grant ftw, so it's a double edged sword. in my last league i'm up by about 20 with three players left for my opponent, while i have only donald driver left. i'd def like to pull out a win in that one, since my opponent sent me a text on friday apologizing in advance for how badly his team was going to own mine.
i've been exercising non-existent br management for the past week, and it looks like it's going to continue through wcoop. i have withdrawn a decent amount off of both sites recently, so while my balance is nowhere near as high as it once was, i still have enough to take shots at higher buy in/silly tournaments. i realized that i have turned into a degen when, in order to de-tilt from a bad loss in wcoop 1, i decided to play a $55 five card draw sat. as i mentioned earlier, i have played that game once in the past 20 years (drunken video poker being the exception, but that's a little diff anyway).
aside from running badly the last couple of days i'm feeling good about my game, and when i play smart and don't make stupid calls/plays that i know in my gut are wrong, i do well. winning flips would be helpful, since that's how i lost big pots in the 40k, 750k, and a few other tournaments. also, if AQ could beat AT and AJ could beat A9 that would be super sweet. :-) i have considered possibility that not working out over w/e could be reason for inability to win flips, so obv hit the gym today.
aside from poker weekend was fun. i finally saw goodfellas and thought it was fine, but not worthy of the massive hype, top 10 movie of all time, etc. didn't find time for cache or the namesake, but i may try to watch one tonight after football. played some ping pong and owned until i lost an earring (thankfully found). watched notre dame football since the mets game got rained out, but didn't head out to shea for the make up b/c boyfriend wanted to watch the jets pwn miami. also squeezed in brunch w/ the 'rents at a good new restaurant (perilla).
i missed the season premiere of gossip girl last week, so i'm super psyched to watch tonight. need to call the cable company and get myself an hd cable box, b/c i'm sick of only being able to watch one program at a time. ok, done rambling. happy monday!

Holmes and Seattle D KILLED me this week.
And I am up against Jesse.
I need big games from Grant and Jennings. And that still might not be enough.
Oh man -- Goodfellas rules!
"Now go home and get your f***in' shinebox"
"Oklahoma kid. That's me. I'm the Oklahoma kid. You f***in' varmint! Dance. Dance. YAHOO, YA MOTHERF***ER!"
"If you're part of a crew, nobody ever tells you that they're going to kill you, doesn't happen that way. There weren't any arguments or curses like in the movies. See, your murderers come with smiles, they come as your friends, the people who've cared for you all of your life. And they always seem to come at a time that you're at your weakest and most in need of their help."
One of my absulute favorite movies of all time.
