american idol
i have been giving this show another chance b/c i am enjoying the hollywood portion of the show, and i thought that paula was slightly less loopy this season. i was wrong. wtf? how can that woman be on national television w/ an inability to form a coherent sentence. ever!!!! it drives me insane. i'm a big fan of the new judge (kara) and i really really really hope they are just easing her in as paula's replacement, b/c paula makes the show almost unwatchable for me. kara, thankfully, tips the balance to watchable. someone pls get paula some help. how many seasons does she have to slur and murmur way through before someone tells her that whatever she is on is not good for her.
i also contemplated making my first ever idol vote tonight, but decided against it.
last random thought -- if someone accidentally leaves the "e" off of vote and texts vot to 5705, do they count it?
this is what i get for writing a post before i'm done watching -- i <3 megan. i LOVED her audition and remember looking forward to her future performances, but somehow missed her during hollywood week. really hoping she gets through, even though the 16 year old kicked way more ass during her performance.

Whats your stance on Nick/Norman?
Personally I think he's hilarious AND he has a good voice. Kind of reminds me of a Richard Cheese type of guy (guy who redos popular songs into a lounge version).
The other thing that impresses me so much about him is his confidence, the dude is not afraid to be himself out there, at the same time while other contestants get so nervous they crack and go off key etc etc.
I have a feeling he is getting the boot tonight, but might we see him back in the wild card round?
i must have spaced out during his performance b/c i heard the judges' comments, then went back and re-watched him sing. i agree, he's got that lounge singer vibe, plus he's got that whole snap thing going on where like you said he's just full of confidence. i didn't think his performance was as bad as the judges were saying, either! def think he's got a possible spot in the wild card, but i wasn't paying as much attention last week to see what other viable candidates there are.
I dunno. I think that Norman's shtick is getting old.
As for Paula, it was recently mentioned (by Paula) that her contract expires this year and she has so many things going on. She them slammed Kara, saying that the extra judge just slows the show down. My guess is that this is Paula's last season.
really? where did she slam her? in the one article i read about them (prob in ew) paula mentioned that they were roommates in la like ten years ago and ~ friends. and lol at her saying kara slows things down. pretty sure she slows more down than the other three judges combined...
She didnt say anything REALLY bad, just that she didnt think there was a need for a 4th judge blah blah blah.
The "fireworks" came in when Kara responded she was hurt that Paula didn't speak to her first.
Naturally, Paula's rep stated afterword that Paula's were taken out of context.
Here is the thing LJ. Last week there were really 3 viable "top 12 material" people in the group. And I personally don't believe it was the 3 that made it through.
Mark my words right now. The final 2 will most likely be Danny Gokey and the vampire guy from last night (you will soon learn the people I dont fancy i don't bother to learn their names) will be the top 2. Although Gokey, to me, is THE best singer in the comp thus far.
Norman/Nick is from Brookfield, CT so hes been big news around the Hartford area.
